Gestion Malex and its divisions make every effort toward the
reduction and recovery of residual materials. However, disposal
remains inevitable for part of the materials. The company thus
has infrastructures for offering its clients this capability.
RESIDUAL MATERIAL TRANSFER CENTRE
An important intermediate service
A
transfer centre constitutes an intermediate stage between collection
trucks and landfills. Trucks deposit their contents into landfills
in an efficient manner, using trailers with a capacity of approximately
30 tonnes, which are then directed toward a certified engineered
landfill.
Computerized facilities monitor the origin of loads, accurately
measure volumes in transit, and produce detailed reports for all
types of clientele.
A transfer station constitutes a valuable asset for reducing
costs related to transportation and sanitary operations for the
clients.
The transfer centres, which are of recent construction, have
been designed specially to ensure good collaboration with neighbouring
companies and residents.
DRY DISPOSAL SITES
Whatever the location of a dry disposal site, Gestion Malex
and its divisions implement innovative measures to accurately
identify the type of materials collected. The rigorous management
policy of each site is known and appreciated by all stakeholders.
Each dry disposal site complies with the standards of the Ministère
du Développement durable, de l'Environnement et des Parcs.
Specific site establishment and management measures illustrate
the company’s will to anticipate coming regulations. Those
measures have become the benchmark for studying the establishment
of new sites and regulatory standards.
The recovery of dry materials, carried out by Gestion Malex
in most sites, further demonstrates this commitment to doing more.
